Carmel Cottage Studio

Carmel Cottage Studio is a small craft start-up based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, creating handcrafted accessories and ornaments from fused glass. I was asked to build a brand that captures the handmade nature of their work while reflecting Carmel's artistic heritage.

I drew on the artist's own fairytale-like cottage, referencing its flower cut-out shutters as a recurring motif across the logo, packaging and labels. Hand-drawn illustration complements the organic, one-of-a-kind edges of the glass, while a circular badge format is reminiscent of old wax seals and plays into Carmel's storybook character, giving the brand the same warmth and craft as the pieces themselves.
